Inside the hidden wood-shop crafting beautiful furniture on Cleveland's west side

CLEVELAND — Tucked away inside the Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Cleveland's W. 110th street is a real hidden gem.

In addition to the wide range of home improvement items lining the aisles, you'll also find a fully functioning wood-shop.

At ReStore, a team of skilled volunteers are on hand to repair broken and damaged donations, and also craft brand-new works of art. They've turned old clocks into bookcases, pianos into wine bars and even produce a wide-range of original wood accessories. These artisans are mostly retired, volunteering their time and keeping busy by doing what they love.

3News' own, Jay Crawford happens to share a love for woodworking, and when he learned about this special place, knew he had to check it out.

Jay decided to team up with the crew to craft a brand new podium to use on the "What's New" set. Watch the video in the player above to see how it all turned out!
